CBBC star looks unrecognisable 13 years after hit children’s show

Every now and then, you spot a star who kind of, maybe, sort of looks familiar, but you just can’t put your finger on why.
Do they just resemble someone or were they a child star who is now all grown up?
The latter is the case for this celebrity who starred in CBBC’s Wizards Vs Aliens 13 years ago, and looks unrecognisable to his younger self. Allow us to reintroduce you to Percelle Ascott.
Now 31, the actor once won hearts playing the quirky character of teen scientist Benny Sherwood in the British Sci-fi kid’s show, best friend to teen wizard, Tom Clarke, who was played by Scott Haran.
The show ran for two years between 2012 and 2014 and followed the pals as they fought against a magic-consuming alien race called the Nekross who landed on Earth and began causing chaos in the wizard and magic community.
It was the perfect show after a long, hard day at school.

But even though it was a hit with fans and successfully filled the gap that Doctor Who’s The Sarah Jane Adventures left behind after lead actress Elisabeth Sladen died, the series was put on hiatus in 2015 due to budget restrictions.
Marking the start of Percelle’s career, he continued to dabble in and out of the sci-fi genre, performing in the 2013 musical Beat Girl before going on to star in the interactive online sci-fi production, The Weekend.
By 2018, Percelle had a few titles under his belt and caught the attention of Doctor Who, starring in the 2018 episode The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos. Since its release, the episode has had over 30 million views on YouTube.
That same year, he also starred in Netflix’s supernatural series The Innocents alongside Hollywood heavyweight Guy Pearce.

No longer a child star, Percelle has swapped his boyish looks for a more grown-up appearance and more grown-up titles.
Having continued his career with a production added to his filmography almost every year, he most recently starred in BBC’s Domino Day, which aired last year.
And is set to appear in I, Jack Wright this year, a British family drama television series created by Chris Lang later this year.
He will star alongside John Simm, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Daniel Rigby and Trevor Eve.

In addition to acting, Percelle is also a writer and producer. He’s a co-founder of the award-winning production company Wall of Production and Wall of Entertainment.
He also runs acting classes and co-founded the business The Wall of Comedy, a social media platform that has earned billions of views worldwide since it began.
As for his personal life, the star is all loved up with his partner, and the pair welcomed their daughter together last year.
Percelle often shares snippets of his life on his Instagram account with his more than 88,000 followers and hosts a podcast where he talks about fatherhood with revolving guests.
