South Sudan is on the verge of another civil war, the UN’s top official in the country warned Monday, citing escalating violence and a stalled peace process. Tensions between President Salva Kiir and Vice President Riek Machar have deepened, threatening to unravel the fragile 2018 peace deal and plunge the nation into renewed conflict.
